A Sunday stroll...

It was a pleasant day in Santa Barbara. We took a leisurely stroll through the foothills of Montecito. There were many beautiful wildflowers and great viewpoints along the way. Here's a photo of Kyle and Lindsey by an old water tower along the trail. And yes, it was warm enough for shorts.:)

One of my favorite smells...

I spent the morning picking oranges for the Backyard Bounty program in our area. It was a very special treat. Giving back to the community in that way makes me feel great! The extra perk about today's work was the fact that the aroma of orange blossoms filled the air as we picked. That smell has become one of my favorites; a sweet, fresh odor that seems to encapsulate life. Ahhhh...another reminder of how powerful simple pleasures are. May we all drink in the beauty that surrounds us today. Enjoy!

Blast from the past...

When Kyle was in high school, he participated in this musical as the infamous butler. Though I have seen footage of his actual performance, for years I have been curious about viewing the whole show live. Yesterday afternoon, we caught a matinee of it. Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat, exceeded my expectations greatly. I loved the random genres that were celebrated, as well as the overall quality of the performers. The butler wasn't quite as cute or scandalous as Kyle had been, however, he executed his lines well. Overall, it was a very fun way to spend a few hours of our weekend. Hurray! Now I can cross that one off my list of things to experience in my lifetime, though honestly I would be more than willing to see it again someday. It was fantastic!
